Harvest Season

Happy Halloween Week!

This weekend, I explored some gorgeous farms & orchards in the DC metro area.  It was a blast! I had so much fun getting into my cozy outfit, picking pumpkins and apples, and drinking tons of cider!  My first stop was Butler's Orchard Farm for their cute pumpkin patch!

I absolutely love fall so I am making the most of it :) We also went over to Walter's Orchard next door for apple picking! Because we were late to the season, there were only Fuji apples left, but they're my favorite kind to eat, so I didn't mind!  I loved every minute of this cliche fall activity, especially because it was my first time!  I really love the east coast so far, there is so much to do and see.

Outfit Details:

Flannel Blazer by Banana Republic; Scarf by Burberry: Sweater by H&M (old); Leggings by Forever 21;

Boots by Tory Burch (i'm wearing last year's version, I linked this year!); and Bag by Rebecca Minkoff

So I definitely wish my hair was this fabulous on a daily basis, but I'm wearing  my 100% human hair clip in hair extensions by Irresistible Me.  My hair is about 1/4 of the thickness you see here in real life :X This is my favorite way to style them, so let me know if you want to see a post with some details on how I do this!  For now, check my blog post here and the website here to pick up your own set of real hair extensions!

Happy fall my loves!!! Tag me in all your activities! I want to see what you're up to for the season :)

Fall-ing for the East Coast

Hi Y'all!!!

I am loving my move to the East Coast! There's so much history here and everything is just so different. I'm in love with the fall weather, all the trees, my new apartment (which is still pretty unfurnished LOL)...It feels so amazing to know that I made a commitment to chasing my dreams and finally I'm where I want to be!

This past weekend I walked around Old Town Alexandria, which is so charming.  It's full of gorgeous row houses, tiny shops, and yummy places to brunch!  I stopped on a lot of strangers' steps and pretended like their house was mine ;)

Outfit Details:

Hat: PopSugar T-Shirt: J.Crew  Cardigan: Zara Jeans: Joe's Jeans Booties: Madewell

Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Necklace: Tiffany & Co Bangle: Banana Republic

I kept it casual with some jeans, ankle booties, a t-shirt, drape cardigan and a wool hat from my September PopSugar must have box.  Everything I'm wearing is older (moving leaves little in the budget for shopping haha) but I've linked the same or similar items above.

How is your fall so far? Have you been out to the D.C. area? If you're here, get in touch with me! We should meet up...I need a tour guide!!! What do you want to know about my move and my new life on the east coast? If you ask, i'll tell :)

The Lazy Girl's Guide to Effortless Style

If you look in my closet,  you'll quickly notice that dresses form the basis of my wardrobe.  You might assume that this is because i'm a super girly girl.  Or because I love a good twirling pic. While all of the above are true, I really love dresses because I am LAZY.

I know, fashion bloggers are supposed to be into getting dressed up and all that.  And I mean, yes I like it! But I also really like to keep it simple, and I really like to sleep.  So my secret for looking put together with minimal effort is...you guessed it, dresses!

Psst: sorry if you were expecting a full blown style guide.  This is more like one of my many tricks...I'll post more in the future ;)

Dresses require no matching, no tucking, nothing.  Pretty much I can hit snooze 10x, put on a dress, throw my hair in a bun, add some lipstick and hop into my car for my hour + commute to my day job.  Somehow when I arrive, my clients still think I am oh so polished and worthy of billable hour...HAH fooled ya!

A good sheath dress like the one I'm wearing can do double duty.  I've worn this one in a board meeting by throwing a matching blazer over it (like this one) and the textured fabric also makes it perfect for a weekend by the beach somewhere.  Hopefully I'm jetting off to Mexico soon, which is what I was envisioning when I added this hat (it would also look great with this one!)  They also look great with a neck scarf (like this one!) or a cozy cardigan like this one when it gets cooler. I like to pair sheaths with a strappy heel to amp things up a bit.  I love this pair and this pair too.

What are some of your tricks for getting ready fast in the morning? I need all the sleep I can get so I would love it if you would share them with me!
