Winter Skin

It's been an EXTRA crazy holiday season for me, and it definitely shows.  From my messy car, to my unwrapped gifts, and my major lack of blog posts...I'm sure you know what it feels like to be frazzled during this busy season!

Even though I'm spread super thin right now, I decided it was important to make a little time for myself everyday, so I've developed a long and luxurious skin routine.  Everyone's skin tends to be drier in the winter, mostly because we spend a lot of time inside next to a heater.  I already have naturally dry skin so mine is parched right now!  Luckily, there's tons of great products out there to help heal and protect your skin.

Some of my favorite products:

  1. Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Facial Polish: for exfoliating
  2. Boots Botanics Hydrating Day Cream: for moisture and a lovely rose scent
  3. Estee Lauder Advance Night Repair: for wrinkles
  4. Nuxe Reve De Miele Lip Balm: for soft lips that taste like honey
  5. Philosophy When Hope Is Not Enough: for brightening and lifting
  6. Bare Minerals Mineral Elixers Oil Cleanser: for a moisturizing cleanse
  7. Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask: for deep hydration and repair while you sleep
  8. Honeywell Humidifier: for getting rid of dry air and allergies
  9. Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream: for night time deep hydration

What are some of your favorite ultra moisturizing products?  Do you have any tips for me? Remember to take some time to take care of yourself over the next few weeks :)

French Pharmacy Favorites

Hi Loves,

I thought I'd break up the travel posts a bit so I wouldn't bore you to death.  Today I'm sharing some of my favorite French pharmacy products!  What's so special about French pharmacies you ask?  Well...they are full of magical items designed to keep your skin, hair, and body looking top notch! Luckily, most of these items can now be bought online or in the states (albeit at a much higher price).  I still think they're worth trying though, and if you happen to be in Paris soon, stock up! I definitely bought 3x of everything on this list.  I think Customs might have thought I was cuckoo..

  1. Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse® Multi-Purpose Dry Oil Shimmer • $39
    • This beautiful dry body oil imparts a gorgeous shimmer and light scent on the skin, all while keeping you super moisturized.
  2. Klorane Dry Shampoo With Oat Milk • $19.50
    • This dry shampoo is delicate, but leaves the hair fluffy and light.
  3. La Roche-Posay Lipkar Balm AP Lipid Replenishing Body Care • $29.99

  4. Nuxe Rêve de Miel® - Ultra-Nourishing Lip Balm • $19
    • I love love love this lip balm because it smells and tastes delicious, keeps my extra chapped lips super hydrated, but has a nice matte finish.  It's perfect under lipstick!
  5. Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentrate • $28
    • This moisturizer gives your skin a smooth and beautiful finish.  It's super rich but not heavy or sticky.  It's in every makeup artist's kit and should be in yours too.

Spring Fling

Hi Loves,

This past weekend it truly felt like spring in Orange County! We had April showers (not my favorite but I know we need it for the drought!) and May flowers came's officially peony season!!! I was super inspired seeing my favorite blooms, so I pulled together a bohemian outfit and soft pink makeup look for brunch on Saturday.

I'm wearing a tiered lace maxi skirt from Urban Outfitters.  It's no longer available, but here's a similar one.  I paired it with a simple sheer loose tank, which I knotted off to define my waist a bit more. It's from Madewell.  Underneath (which you can't really see in this picture) I layered a mint green lace bralette from Forever 21.  The necklaces I'm wearing are 1) the "key to success" necklace from Dogeared, and 2) a custom diamond pendant that was a gift.

1.  First, I prepped my eyes using Urban Decay Primer Potion so that my eyeshadow would apply evenly. Then I used the MAC "Nordstrom Neutrals" palette to create my eye look.  I used "Hey", "Warm Breeze" "Honey Lust" "Ginger Snap" and "Dark Brew".  I lined my eyes with Kat Von D's Tattoo Liner in Trooper.  I added Ardell Demi Wispie lashes...which didn't go on as perfect as I like, but hey, life isn't perfect!

2. Then, I filled in my brows with Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow in Medium Brow. I cleaned up the line using Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard. I set my brows with Anastasia's Clear Brow Gel.

3. Next, I applied Estee Lauder's Illuminating Primer all over my skin.  I used Nars Sheer Glow foundation in Santa Fe to even out my skin tone.  I love this foundation because it leaves a lot of radiance in your skin so you don't look like you're wearing makeup! I used the same Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer from earlier under my eyes to add some light to my face. I set my foundation with Sephora's Baked Powder.

4. Then, I added dimension back into my face using Anastasia's Contour Palette, by applying "Fawn" into the hollows of my cheeks, along my jawline, on my temples, and down the sides of my nose.  I added a little bit of blush to the apples of my cheeks using Nars Blush in Orgasm.  This is my go-to everyday color.  It looks good on absolutely everyone!

5. Finally, I swiped some Dior Addict Lip Glow in Sheer Pink on my lips.  It's super hydrating, has SPF 15, and the color adjusts to bring out the natural colors unique to your pout! How cool is that?

I hope everyone's having a gorgeous weekend! As always, I love to hear from you so reach out to me if you have any questions about my look, or even if you just want to chat!
